Today I am thankful for my sweet organizational skills. That OCD sure came in handy when taking care of four kids with incredible social schedules. Sunday evening at 4pm and the house is clean, dish washer running, back packs & lunch boxes lined up ready for school in the morning.... Pretty sure I could only keep this up for three days at a time though. Props to all you moms who keep this for 18+ years!
I'm also thankful for my bi-lingual upbringing. Earlier today I grabbed one of the kid's shoes, looked at him and said, "Siéntate aquí." He cracked up laughing, "What you sayyyy?!" So I have him a quick Spanish lesson and I think I finally got some serious street cred with the kid.
Bet my parents never thought I'd be grateful for growing up on the poor side of the tracks. That 3rd grade ESL class wasn't in vain, mama!
